Bylaw Notice Enforcement

These City bylaws can be adjudicated. This bylaw sets out the option to either pay the penalty or request a hearing. Some of the bylaws covered include the building bylaw (No. 7245), business license bylaw (No. 7878), fire safety bylaw (No. 10760), traffic bylaw (No. 8120), parks bylaw (No. 10680), zoning bylaw (No. 8000), sign bylaw (No. 8235) and the solid waste bylaw (No. 10106).

Election Sign Bylaw

The City of Kelowna Election Sign Bylaw outlines use and placement of signs during federal, provincial, local government, or school district election campaigns or referendums. The bylaw applies to both public and private land.

Solid Waste Management Bylaw

This bylaw sets out the regulations for the City’s residential garbage collection system and landfill, including the size and location of garbage containers, the amount of garbage to be picked up, the types of garbage permitted, disposal requirements for specific types of waste and materials that are prohibited at the dump. The bylaw also sets out the landfill disposal fees, garbage pick-up rates and special annual levy for landfill disposal costs.

Mobile Business Licence Scheme

The Inter-Community Mobile Business Licence Bylaw establishes authorizes participating municipalities to permit certain kinds of businesses to operate across municipal jurisdictions within the province while minimizing the need to obtain a separate municipal business licence in each jurisdiction. This does not cover social escort services, body-rub services or taxis, limos or buses.
