Financial Services

Financial Services provides various departments and Council with day-to-day financial advice on all matters involving the expenditure of funds and/or generation of revenue on a policy and ad-hoc basis. The Department develops and implements long-range plans which meet the capital and operating needs of the community within the guidelines of the City's Official Community Plan.

The Financial Services Department is responsible for:

Development Services

Development Services monitors compliance with Council policies governing subdivision development, construction of roads and utilities and the construction of buildings and structures.

Services are provided through three branches:

  • Building & Permitting
  • Subdivision Approval
  • Development Engineering

Cultural Services

Collaboration with arts, cultural and heritage organizations is a key role for Cultural Services in further supporting the development of Kelowna’s cultural sector. Cultural Services provides operating and grant funding which support cultural initiatives and also promotes the Cultural District through strategic marketing, festivals and events and operates the Kelowna Community Theatre.
