The bylaw requires all properties located within a sanitary sewer specified area must be connected to sewer. The bylaw sets out the connection standards and requirements for both sanitary sewer and storm drain systems and outlines the types of waste that may be discharged into the system.

This bylaw designates those City Bylaws which may be enforced under the municipal ticket information (MTI) system. It sets the fines for the offenses and designates the officials entitled to enforce each of the bylaws. Some of the bylaws included in the MTI system are Building Bylaw No. 7245, Business Licence and Regulation Bylaw No. 7878, Fire Prevention Regulation Bylaw No. 6110, Traffic Bylaw No. 8120, Parks and Public Spaces Bylaw No. 6819, Zoning Bylaw No. 8000, Sign Bylaw No. 8235 and Solid Waste Management Bylaw No. 10106.

The City of Kelowna Nuisance Trees and Shrubs Bylaw sets out the regulations for nuisance trees, shrubs, hedges or bushes, to provide for their control, and to provide for the recovery of the cost of their control from the owner of the property from which such nuisance tree, shrub, hedge or bush is growing, where the owner does not comply with instructions to eliminate such nuisance.

The Clean Indoor Air and Smoking Regulation Bylaw sets out the regulations under which owners or operators of restaurants, bowling alleys, bingo halls and shopping mall food services may designate part of their premises as an area in which smoking is permitted. The bylaw also provides for the size, colours and wording required on no-smoking and smoking permitted signs.

The Plumbing Regulation Bylaw sets out the permits and inspections required when constructing, altering or repairing plumbing systems within City limits. It also sets out standards for site drainage, water service lines, installation of plumbing fixtures and installing water meters.

The Mobile Home Parks bylaw sets out the regulations regarding the establishment, extension, design and servicing of trailer parks. Provisions are made for permit requirements, park design and layout standards, recreation areas, roadways, access, water supply, sewage systems and disposal, garbage disposal, fire hydrants and street lighting.

This bylaw regulates the keeping of horses, mules, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits, chickens, guinea pigs and other farm animals within the City. The bylaw also provides for the establishment of an animal pound and the appoint of a poundkeeper to impound animals that are running at large. The bylaw sets out the rates charged for use of the City’s sanitary sewer system. Provisions are made for a residential monthly flat rate charge and a commercial monthly charge based on the quantity of water used.
