Air quality

The Regional Air Quality Program is a joint initiative between the City of Kelowna, the City of West Kelowna, Westbank First Nation, the Regional District of Central Okanagan, the District of Peachland and the District of Lake Country.

Aligning with B.C. Government initiatives, the program aims to protect and improve air quality in Central Okanagan through education, awareness and pollution prevention.

Neighbourhood Associations

Neighbourhood Associations

Neighbourhood associations are not-for-profit organizations that consist of dedicated volunteers who reside within the same neighbourhood and bring neighbours together to foster a sense of belonging and connectedness. They organize grassroots initiatives, identify opportunities to enhance their neighbourhood and collectively work together to enact their ideas.

Block party support

Great cities are made up of strong neighbourhoods. In turn, strong neighbourhoods are made up of connected and engaged residents. Neighbourhood events are a fun and enjoyable way to meet neighbours and build a stronger, more connected neighbourhood.

Strong Neighbourhoods grants

We offer two types of grants: The Strong Neighbourhood Grant and the Youth Development & Engagement Grant.

Both grants are designed to empower residents to lead projects and events that foster a deeper sense of connection and belonging within neighbourhoods.

Heritage

Kelowna heritage register

Kelowna’s heritage is a history tied to the land, natural environment and the people who have long understood the richness of this area. Kelowna's heritage is reflected in the buildings, neighbourhoods and landscapes from these earlier eras. These are the homes, work spaces, and community gathering places created by the people who shaped and developed the city of Kelowna.

Cultural District

The Cultural District was developed in what was once the centre of the Okanagan's historical fruit packing industry. Through the dedication of the arts community, municipal leadership, strong community planning and major investments, the Cultural District has become the hub of Kelowna’s artistic and cultural activity.
