In response to the redevelopment of the Parkinson Recreation site, Rutland Recreation Park will be redeveloped to include 2 new sport fields.  The work includes two lit artificial turf fields, additional pathways, upgrades to parking in the north end, a plaza space and reconfiguration of the dog park and community gardens.

In co-operation with the Summit Resevoir expansion, Summit Park will also be seeing improvements. The roof of newly expanded reservoir is being put to use as a place for congregating and play; amenities such a table tennis, seating and an open play area will be available for use. Additionally, the established park area will also see improvements such as, new play equipment, pathways, landscaping and irrigation.

Irrigation renewal is an annual program that receives allocated funding each year for the replacement and upgrading of aging irrigation systems in parks, landscape areas and civic properties. The East Kelowna Ball fields (completion) and Ben Lee Park are the selected renewal sites for 2025.

The construction of a neighborhood park on Burne Ave is anticipated to begin in early 2025. Burne Park is adjacent to Mill Creek which recently received flood protection works. The park amenities include naturalized areas, pathways, connection to nearby school grounds, play equipment, site furnishings, lighting, landscaping and irrigation.

Improvements include a separated pedestrian and active transportation pathways, plazas, Ogopogo short relocation and ground improvements, modification to the fountain at the Sails, relocated dog beach, benches, lighting, landscaping, new water access points, foreshore improvements and respective utilities upgrades.  Detours will be in place to support pedestrians and cyclists.

Public consultation was completed Fall / Winter 2022/23 with the design complete in 2023 and construction 2024 / 2025.
