<p>The mobile business licence program - delivered in partnership with the Provincial Ministry of Small Business and Revenue – enables businesses to operate in a participating community outside Kelowna. Qualifying business can add an inter-community mobile business licence to their existing <a href="https://www.kelowna.ca/business-services/permits-licences/business-licences#overlay-context=node/454/draft">business licence</a> for an annual fee of $150.</p>\r\n

<p>A mobile business operates in more than one of the participating communities without a physical location in each of these communities. A mobile business can have a storefront in its home-based municipality. There are numerous types of mobile businesses such as contractors - tradespeople, landscaping services, janitorial services, pest control - massage therapists, mechanics, photographers and hairdressers. The mobile label does not apply to businesses selling goods or services from a fixed or semi-fixed location such as a fruit stand/truck, mobile store, flea market, horse drawn carriage, carnival, concession stand or trade show.</p>\r\n

<p>All mobile businesses are eligible for an inter-community mobile business licence, except certain types of businesses such as escort agencies, body rub services and passenger directed vehicles- for-hire such as taxis, limousines and buses. <p>Those who wish to operate on private land must also follow the following guidelines:</p>\r\n

\t<li>The mobile store use (food services, retail, etc.) must be an allowable one in the zoning category that applies to the property on which the license is applied for.</li>\r\n
\t<li>The following must be provided the following at the time of application for the business licence\r\n
\t<ul>\r\n
\t\t<li>Authorization from the property owner for the applicant to apply for the mobile store business license.</li>\r\n
\t\t<li>A site plan which includes the following:\r\n
\t\t<ul>\r\n
\t\t\t<li>Proposed location of the mobile store on the site</li>\r\n
\t\t\t<li>Duration mobile store is proposed to be on the site, days of operation and hours of operation</li>\r\n
\t\t\t<li>Distance from property lines and buildings of the mobile store</li>\r\n
\t\t</ul>\r\n
\t\t</li>\r\n
\t</ul>\r\n
\t</li>\r\n
\t<li>City Staff will verify the number of parking stalls required by existing uses on the site as per the Zoning Bylaw (there must be adequate parking for existing uses and no additional parking stalls must be required for the mobile store)</li>\r\n
