The City of Kelowna is working on a series of urbanization investments to make Core Area neighbourhoods connected and safe for all users by construction new sidewalks where none exist, improving drainage with curb and gutter and adding trees to improve Kelowna’s green canopy. The projects are guided by policies within the <a href="https://www.kelowna.ca/our-community/planning-projects/2040-official-community-plan/ch-5-core-area">2040 Official Community Plan (OCP)</a> and <a href="https://www.kelowna.ca/our-community/planning-projects/2040-transportation-master-plan">Transportation Master Plan (TMP).</a> The cross-section design is consistent with the City’s Core Area Local Cross-section, as outlined in the City’s Subdivision and Servicing Bylaw. <p><strong>Project Scope:</strong><br />\r\n
The roadway will also be urbanized, which includes a new storm water management system, curb and gutter, sidewalk, parallel parking, tree planting in boulevards, shared travel lane and undergrounding of overhead utilities.</p>\r\n
