Mission Recreation Park
About the Park
Mission Recreation Park is one of Kelowna’s largest recreation parks at 44 hectares. It has 13 sports fields and is a great place to enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities including playing soccer and softball, going for a walk or jog, playing fetch, or relaxing and enjoying the scenery and birdwatching along the trails. The park links up with the Mission Creek Greenway and features an artificial turf field with lighting, off-leash dog area, playground, and community garden.
McKinley Mountain Park
Get outside and venture out to this gorgeous hidden gem! Take a ‘Mini Knox’ hike (approximately 1 km uphill) and enjoy a fantastic view of the north and south Okanagan Lake at the top of the trail. Be aware of wildlife in this area, including bears and coyotes.
Mission Ridge Park
Note: the entrance to Mission Ridge Park via Mission Ridge Road is closed for repairs until further notice.
Alternate access to the park is available via Westpoint Drive, Westridge Drive and Bullock Road.
Manhattan Drive Beach Access
Escape the popular beach crowds find a quiet beach access point close to downtown. There is plenty of sand to get some beach time in and also grassy areas to picnic on. Try out the swing set and get an even better view of West Kelowna across the lake while you swing!
Note that parking is limited in this area so using alternative modes of transportation are encouraged.
